Craftsman Style Oak Radiator Cover/ Window Seats

A couple starting to rehab their new home on Chicago’s north side wanted to upgrade three radiator cover/ window seats, two in the living room and one in the kitchen. The first stage was developing and presenting design drawings followed by building the three pieces out of red oak with two coats of stain and polyurethane to match the existing woodwork in their home. The undersides of the tops had sheets of foil insulation added for safety and also to help reflect the heat out into the rooms. These pieces can be ordered in a variety of stains, be fitted to individual radiators and built in a variety of woods including red and white oak as well as cherry or painted.
