This piece was designed and built for a couple who wanted a place in their living room to store and display books, toys for their young daughter in the cabinets below as well as the ability to plug in and route some wiring for electronics. They wanted a really clean aesthetic, contemporary simple lines are the approach overall. The doors have small scalloped back edges for opening the cabinets with out needing door pulls, basically clean flat panels from the front. . . all with soft close hinges. The shelves are moveable to configure to a three or four shelf run. A floor heat duct was routed from below and one electric and one cable outlet integrated through the back of the lower cabinets. A series of drawings were developed for the first stage, after dialing in on which design they liked best I was able to begin the carpentry in the shop.  The piece in 9″ tall and just a little less than 11″ wide, spray finished with satin finish off white and a deep slate blue for the backs.
