A couple who had recently bought their first home wanted a breakfast nook/ banquette built to add a custom feel to their dining area off the kitchen, a place where they could eat, hang out, work on their computers and entertain. They wanted it to be large enough to seat a large group of family at the holidays and also wanted storage boxes under the four seats to provide a place to keep table cloths, linens and various kitchen stuff. Soft close lid supports were installed to prevent pinched fingers. I created design drawings showing how the piece would integrate with their existing window, breakfast bar and the room in general. The piece was 93″ x 87″ with clear polyurethaned birch storage boxes. The white finish was sprayed for a satin smooth surface.
