The existing porch on this Edgewater home was in pretty serious disrepair and needed to be replaced. I met with the homeowners and worked with them on the design process to determine the width of the new staircase as well as the design of the newel posts. The porch was built primarily out of treated pine with some cedar and some composite mouldings. All surfaces were back-primed on all sides for longevity. All four posts were anchored to concrete piers underneath for stability, a really enjoyable piece to build on excellent summer days.
